This certificate course will facilitate intensive training for computerized reservation system operations and general management of reception, information and concierge desks in hotels and other tourism-related enterprises. More than gaining the technical know-how, students will understand their key role in revenue generation as the industry front-liners. Training on personality development and customer service and English proficiency in the workplace are also included in the course syllabus.
Front Office plays a vital role. Front Office is also called the nerve Centre of Hotel. It is the first department with which a guest comes in direct contact even before check in (at the time of reservation). Front office comprises of various sections e.g. Reception, Registration. Reservation. Telephone operator, cashier, Guest Relations Executive, Bell desk, Concierge etc. Besides the above sections, a student doing diploma in this department can be absorbed in Accounts and auditing section of the Hotel.
The Personality and communication skill should be of highest standards. Most of the guest coming in the star hotels are foreigners and English is the most widely spoken language followed by French, Spanish, German. Besides Hotel Industry, student can opt for related fields like Airlines, Corporate guest houses, Cruise liners, Business Clubs, Public relation personnel of company, Sales and marketing executives etc. This Industry gives one the chance to serve and make contacts with the cream of the Society which certainly helps for future growth. Being front of the house department, the Front Office has wide opportunity for rising up in the hierarchy of a hospitality unit.
